I have been playing with a new Triquint ULNA device (TQP3M9036). It
Shows a lot of promise. It is like a MAR or MSA device in that it is
50ohm in and out. and has a claimed NF about .4db nf ( their numbers).
I have built several pramps to test them and have gotten even better
than they claim and they cover 50-1296 with ease and NF is .4ish or
below. The S11 and S22 are both great and the OIP3 is +35db also
...very nice device. It has great promise as a good terrestrial LNA.
Preamps are foolproof to build and would cost under $50 if all the best
quality parts are used.

Hi all,
I’m ready on 6cm with the same dish I’m using on 3cm.
Despite the strong local 5 GHz WiFi noise, had a nice 579/569 first QSO with this setup today with HB9Q, thank you Dan !
Setup is a 3.7m dish and 60W at CP feeder.
I can be QRV on 6cm or 3cm most of the days, skeds and tests are very welcome, as usual.

Hello- Looking for information and suggestions on modifying an SSB Electronics LT-2S MK2 144 Mhz transverter to use a PLL synthesized local osc module in place of built in crystal osc. The unit uses a 116.000 Mhz crystal osc and I am wanting to know if anyone has modified this unit to defeat this crystal osc and feed in 116.000 Mhz osc signal from a PLL module. I was studying the Q-5 LO module but wanted to know if others available? Thanks,Byron W5FH
GE all, I have a favor to ask of the UHF EME community. AMSAT's newest
satellite RadFXSat-2, is transmitting but barely detectable on AO-13 class
stations. Would any big guns take a listen for the beacon at 435.750 and
send any recordings to me at glasbrenner(a)mindspring.com
<mailto:glasbrenner@mindspring.com> ? The beacon may be continuous or may be
for about 10s every 2 minutes. The beacon is 1200 baud BPSK. Passes can be
found at https://www.amsat.org/track/index.php Telemetry software is at
https://www.amsat.org/foxtelem-software-for-windows-mac-linux/, but we can
decode from IQ or centered audio files.
Thanks for your help!

I cant be QRV this weekend but you should be!
This weekend is the annual EME NL SSB Funtest. Rules are at http://www.nitehawk.com/rasmit/NLD/eme2012.pdf
CW-SSB contacts are encouraged. If you’ve never listened for eme SSB before then give it a try, you will be surprised at what you can work. The 30th January is 23cm and 31st 13cm.
Two tips for the Funtest, You really should point the antenna to less than the 1dB beamwidth, so be prepared to tweak if you have that capability. Get into the receiver options and set the ssb bandwidth to 200 to 1800 Hz, or experiment a bit up and down. Thats 1.4dB better than the usual default of most receivers.

(Personal update, making good progress walking (and on small step ladders!) but cant say when I will be able to get back on eme)
