I have been playing with a new Triquint ULNA device (TQP3M9036). It
Shows a lot of promise. It is like a MAR or MSA device in that it is
50ohm in and out. and has a claimed NF about .4db nf ( their numbers).
I have built several pramps to test them and have gotten even better
than they claim and they cover 50-1296 with ease and NF is .4ish or
below. The S11 and S22 are both great and the OIP3 is +35db also
...very nice device. It has great promise as a good terrestrial LNA.
Preamps are foolproof to build and would cost under $50 if all the best
quality parts are used.

Any of you have a FT 991 for radio. according to what I read it does not required an Interface for digital work which include WSJT X. It has a soundcard but where is the interface????
I am considering a mobile radio which I can carry around easily like a FT857 or a FT991.
Please give me your comments & suggestion off line.

I would like to install an (small) EME antenna on the condominium terrace ...
(as usual, the neighbors are not thrilled to big antennas!)
the 70 cm band can be a good choice?
The antennas would be small, but the path_loss is high, and some OM
told me what the activity is low on 70cm ..
what is please your opinion about the 70cm band??

Nice setup! I am very near to getting QRV on 3cm, but main issue to be solved is accurate dish pointing. Let you know when we can try!

last Friday, as I was trying my first Moon echoes on 3cm, PY2GN, a long time friend which is active on 2m EME, came by to pick some stuff I had for him. He became so excited about the “historical” moonbouncing moment that he made some videos, which he later edited and posted on YouTube.
To my surprise it has now 500+ views.
At 13 min. it is a bit long, and it’s spoken in Portuguese, but, of course you can make use of f.fwd. and explanations aren't required at all for you.

Hi all,
my 3cm station was finally completed last week, all together a two years long project.
It’s a fully new setup : 3.7m dish , 50 W sspa ( 30 W out now ), and K3 xcvr.
Luckily, due to ARRL’s contest, there was nice activity on the band last weekend to try it for the first time.
Although I've built linear polarisation control in it, could not play much as I was busy enough taking care of the basics, including manual doppler on CW ( on JT4 it's taken care by WSJT-X ).
I’m very happy achieving 16 QSOs during the weekend, first ever 3cm from PY, 11 firsts DXCC - PY on 3cm :
Saturday:
SP6JLW(cw), OZ1LPR(cw), HB9Q(cw), UA6HTS(cw), OK1KIR(cw), DF1OI(cw), DL0EF(cw), PA3DZL(cw), WA3LBI(jt4),
Sunday

Despite nice spkr copy from W6YX, could not decode enough in JT4F to complete it, some freq. drift may be blamed, hope next time.
Had to stop earlier on Sunday due to rain, as the sensitive equips at the feeder are not WX protected yet.

I have about 10 initial contacts now on 23 cm EME and am wondering how to count them.
Do JT modes and CW count as separate inits, or is it a QSO with another specific station regardless of mode?
Ditto for SSB.
And, although this won’t be an issue for me for a quite a long time, I assume that initials are “per band”, that is, when I work the same station on another band, that’s a new initial, right?
