The K1JT Multi-Op station will be active on 144, 432, and
1296 during the second weekend of the 2008 ARRL
International EME Competition. We aim to make as many QSOs
as possible in both CW and JT65 modes. We will switch
between modes as the activity levels suggest.
Particular operating practices:
144 MHz: When calling CQ in JT65, we are likely to be
somewhere around 144.118 +/- QRM. During our JA window we
will work with a 40 kHz split -- for example, if you call CQ
on 144.080, we will respond on 144.120, and vice-versa. We
will switch to CW frequently, and we hope to work everyone
we can copy on both modes.
432 MHz: By default we will operate in CW mode. On Saturday
we call CQ in JT65B on 432.070 at 0730, 0830 and 0930 UTC;
on Sunday at 0830, 0930 and 1030 UTC. We will call CQ on
JT65B near the end of our JA/VK window.
1296 MHz: By default we will operate in CW mode. On Saturday
we will call CQ using JT65C on 1296.070 at 0700, 0800 and
0900; on Sunday at 0800, 0900 and 1000. We will call CQ on
JT65C near the end of our JA/VK window.
Special suggestion to smaller stations: Don't forget to call
CQ now and then, especially later in the weekend. You may
be surprised at who will answer!
Special suggestion to stations using real-time assistance:
Don't forget that many stations -- including most of the
larger ones -- will NOT be using the loggers. After a QSO,
be sure to stay on frequency long enough to find possible
tail-enders calling you.
Good luck to all, and lots of fun in the contest!

Here is a short feedback from several stations after arrl contest.
PSE QRS !
A lot of om's had problems with the cw speed. And this problem increased with
the number of hours without sleep.
So to all the high speed stations: please think about this at a problem for a lot
of stations that are not so familiar with cw. 100 lpm is fast for a lot of people !
Perhaps formular could be:
CW Speed for contest = (cw speed (lpm)/ hours without sleep) + 40
Thanks for a not 100 % serious but constructive discussion for the second part and gl in november
73s and good dx

Hello again EME'ers...
I am using some SMA relays rated to 400 watts (Avg Power as per the spec
sheet ) at 150mhz... If I have them mounted with heatsink compound flush to
a 4 x 8 x 3/16 " AL plate would that increase the power rating...? Or, is
the rating based much more on the separation between conductors in the relay
block...?
Any thoughts....? 73...Jordan VE6ZT

I have a 70CM GS35b cavity for sale, as I will never get use of it here in
my shack.
Would be better if others can use the cavity and become QRV on 70CM EME?.
It's a Russian cavity and 2 * GS35b tubes will follow.
Let me know if any interest. Photo on request.
